About the Item

Pair of vases made in Czechoslovakia (dislocated headquarters) under the Barovier and Toso B.A.G brand, datable to the 1980s. These are blown glass artifacts worked with the technique of flameworking, which involves immersing glass already being worked in a crucible containing differently colored glass, thus creating a uniform and precious coating. The design features a sleek, sinuous shape with a circular base made of deep yellow glass and a milky white glass body, while the interior is colored in a warm yellow that enhances its brightness. The color scheme and workmanship give the pieces an elegant yet bold look typical of the artistic production of the 1980s. With original label. The Barovier dynasty was founded in Murano in 1295 and in 1942 became Barovier Toso, one of the most prestigious glassworks on the island. Under the leadership of Ercole Barovier (1889-1974), the company combines tradition and innovation: from Art Nouveau chandeliers to modernist creations such as the Pezzato, Barbaric, and Oriente. To this day, the family maintains control and the brand is a symbol of Murano glass excellence.
