About the Item
A stunning Swedish mid-century Flygsfors pink Coquille art glass bowl by renowned designer Paul Kedelv (Swedish, 1917-1990).
Paul Kedelv was one of Sweden’s leading glass makers and was renowned for his designs for the Flygsfors and Reijmyre glassworks during the mid-20th century and his best-known range by far is the Coquille range.
The hand-blown oval shaped glass bowl is heavily made standing on a polished flat oval base with a shaped and raised edge to either end. The bowl is made in clear glass with a cased internal pink over white floral or petal design created by a polished shaped interior to the bowl. The bowl has hand incised title Coquille to the base and is signed Flygfors with the number 56 probably for 1956. A stunning and quality bowl.
Provenance: From the estate and collection of the late Jackie Mann, a respected member of the UK antique trade. Acquired from the UK Art Market
In good condition with customary age wear to the base.
