About the Item

Product info This ceramic vase was produced by ESKAF (Eerste Steenwijker Kunst Aardewerk Fabriek) during the early Huizen period, between 1928 and 1934. The model number is 834, a documented form from the factory's interwar period. The vase has a strong, balanced profile with a gently swelling body and slightly flared neck, finished in a deep matte black glaze that emphasizes its sculptural character. The surface shows subtle tonal variation typical of ESKAF's high-quality kiln firing during this period. The vase is signed on the base and retains its original G.Hanenberg Gallery (Amsterdam) label, indicating early gallery distribution and adding to its provenance. A well-proportioned and authentic example of Dutch interwar ceramics, suitable for collector of ESKAF, De-Stijl adjacent applied arts, or early 20th-century European pottery. Condition Very good vintage condition. A small pinhole-shaped indentation is present in the glaze; this is a manufacturing-related firing characteristic, not damage, and is consistent with period production methods.
