About the Item

The work of famed French glass master René Lalique, this dynamic vase is crafted in the rare and intricate Formose pattern. Conceived in 1924 during the height of Art Deco, its spherical design is formed from opalescent glass that features elegant koi fish intertwined upon its surface. One of the most celebrated sculptors of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, René Lalique is not only known for his pioneering style of glassmaking, but also for designing some of the most enchanting jewelry of the age. His penchant for innovation and eye for style made him one of the premier craftsmen at the Paris Exhibition of 1925, and to this day collectors marvel at the grace and artistry of his creations the world over.
