About the Item
A large handblown blue sommerso vintage glass vases by Bo Borgström for Åseda, Sweden. This is a very special vase, the color is a vibrant blue surrounded by clear crystal. It is very grand and yet also very simple and sophisticated and will be a fantastic show piece in any setting.
It is 25cm high (9.84") and around 6cm (2.36") in diameter at the base. It is in a very good condition. The price includes free shipping.
Åseda was formed on 29 June 1946 and registered as Åseda Glasbruks AB on 14 March 1947.
The production that used to be mostly laboratory, technical and tableware glass would later only include art and decorative glass in color as well as complementary tableware glass. Since the beginning of the 60's, the artist and designer Bo Borgström has been associated with the company and his work and design have given Åseda its own style, with usually robust shapes and bold colors. Due to his skills large parts of their production were sent abroad both to Europe, North America and Australia.
