Exceptional Set of Three Murano Glass Vases by Cenedese, Italian Mid-Century Modern, circa 1970s
A vibrant and highly collectible set of three Italian Murano glass vases, executed by the esteemed glassworks of Cenedese in the 1970s. These exquisite pieces showcase the masterful a fasce (striped) technique, a signature of high-quality Murano craftsmanship from the period.
Each vase features a gently tapered, slightly conical form, with a translucent, soft white, slightly frosted or satin-finish glass body that diffuses the light beautifully. The surface is adorned with a dynamic, swirling spiral of multicolored enameled glass canes (fasce), creating a striking, playful aesthetic. The colors include bright Red, warm Orange, sunny Yellow, and crisp Lime Green and Teal accents.
The rims are finished with a thick, applied band of solid, translucent Ruby Red glass, providing a bold contrast and a polished, refined edge. The contrasting textures—the matte body against the glossy, vivid stripes and rim—highlight the high level of artistry.
