About the Item

A rare small Art Nouveau vase produced by N.S.A. Brantjes Co. in Purmerend, the Netherlands, between 1895 and 1904. This model, No. 1100, features the sought-after Decor A, characterised by flowing organic forms and hand-painted vegetal motifs in shades of green, blue, ochre, and brown. The piece showcases the high-gloss tin glaze typical of Dutch Art Nouveau ceramics and displays the richly layered brushwork associated with the Purmerend school. The underside is marked with the period signature and "S.P.", likely the decorator's initials, along with impressed factory marks. A fine example of early Dutch Art Nouveau craftsmanship and an attractive small-form vase with excellent colour saturation. Condition: A tiny flake to the foot rim visible on the last two pictures. All-in-all, very good antique condition with light age-appropriate wear. Some expected minor surface irregularities from production and traces of an old label on the base. Dimensions: Weight: 200 grams Height: 10 cm Width (max): 8 cm Width (foot): 5.5 cm Width (mouth): 3.5 cm
