About the Item
A lovely serving dish of model Domino designed by Stig Lindberg at Gustavsberg. It is 20 x 20 cm and in excellent condition except from a tiny, small chip on one of the top corners (about 1 mm), the chip is still black so it is very hard to notice but shall be mentioned. It is marked below with the Gustavsberg stamp.
The Domino serie was created by Stig Lindberg in 1954 to the large Swedish design expedition H55 in Helsingborg in 1955. All the objects was designed in geometrical shapes and with stylistic relief patterns mostly in black and white. The serie was in production until 1969.

21-year-old Stig Lindberg managed to get an internship in the summer of 1973, a time when Gustavsberg porcelain factory was close to bankruptcy.
It took about two months for Stig Lindberg to impress Gustavsberg's artistic director Wilhelm Kåge, and after the summer he was offered a position as Kåge's apprentice.
