About the Item

A small mid-century Swedish smoked glass bud vase by Strömbergshyttan. Modernist in style, the vase is crafted from thick-walled glass using the sommerso technique, with a layer of rich smoked brown encased in clear crystal. The form is elegant in its simplicity—an elongated teardrop tapering to a narrow mouth, balanced by a rounded, weighted base. Measuring approximately 12 cm in height and 5.5 cm in diameter, it is well suited as a solifleur vase or as a sculptural accent within a Scandinavian or mid-century modern interior. The quality is consistent with Strömbergshyttan’s post-war production, known for its refined clarity and glass density. The vase remains in very good vintage condition, with only light signs of age and use. A restrained and beautifully proportioned example of Swedish modernist glass design.
