About the Item

Original Vallauris ceramic pitcher, produced in the mid-20th century and engraved “Vallauris” on the base. The piece has an angular, slightly faceted body with a sculpted handle and a defined spout, giving it a strong graphic profile on a shelf or table. The surface combines a glossy orange glaze with areas of highly textured fat lava glazing in shades of grey and white. The contrast between the smooth orange panels and the cratered relief emphasises the form and reflects the experimental approach of Vallauris workshops of the period. The interior is glazed, allowing the pitcher to be used functionally or as a vase. Very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and careful use.
