About the Item

This vase is the result of entirely manual work in red stoneware, enriched with fine-grained chamotte, which gives the surface a slight roughness, evoking the strength and truth of the material. Each gesture in modeling follows the columbine technique, in which the clay is carefully layered and shaped, allowing the craftsman's hand to converse with the earth, to feel its breath and guide it until it shapes a unique and unrepeatable object. The vessel is fired twice: an initial medium-temperature firing stabilizes the shape and allows the material to solidify, while a second high-temperature firing, carried out after glazing, gives the stoneware exceptional firmness, outstanding mechanical strength, and time-defying durability. This second firing generates a vitrified surface that is smooth and resistant to scratches, stains and chemicals, transforming the natural material into an object of rare technical and aesthetic elegance. The enamel finish, with color effects in metallic gray and rust tones, enhances the vase's three-dimensionality and details, creating an interplay of light and depth that invites the eye to dwell on the nuances and irregularities of the surface. Every variation in color, every reflection, and every subtle imperfection tells the story of the passage of the craftsman's hand and the history of the material, giving the piece a living and unique character. The result is a vase that combines material strength, technical precision and aesthetic value, designed not as a simple container, but as a contemplative object, capable of dialoguing with space, light and the observer, transforming every glance into a sensory experience.
