About the Item
This vase takes shape from white earthenware, constructed in slabs and worked entirely by hand with colored paste clay. Powdered ceramic pigments, added directly to raw clay and kneaded by hand, melt into the material resulting in a marbled effect reminiscent of a natural granite, shot through with warm tones of burnt earth.
The color mark is neither applied on the surface nor entrusted to glazes: it arises from within the impasto and is deeply integrated into the structure of the vessel, like a geological layering that spontaneously emerges on the surface.
Fired at medium temperature, the piece is left unglazed to preserve its natural texture and porosity. The finish, made with shellac applied by pad and natural wax, enhances the surfaces without altering the essence.
Piece conceived as a sculptural and decorative object.
