About the Item
This vase was created from white clay, shaped and colored entirely by hand. Powdered ceramic pigments are incorporated directly into the raw mixture, kneaded slowly according to a technique that allows veins and color fractures to emerge, like a natural breccia in which turquoise and terracotta tones are interwoven.
Drawing is not applied, it is not painted: it inhabits matter. It is part of its deeper structure, emerged from gesture and time, as unrepeatable as a geological formation.
The intentionally unglazed surface preserves the porosity of the earthenware and restores its truth to the touch: an opaque, warm presence, far from any artifice.
Baked at medium temperature, the pot is not meant to hold water, but to hold air, light, silence.
The finish, made by padding with shellac and complemented by natural wax, protects the leather without altering its core.
