Vaso in porcellana dipinta a mano, realizzato da C.A.B. Firenze negli anni '60 Ø cm 20 Ø cm 8 h cm 13 Il marchio C.A.B. Firenze (spesso identificato dal marchio esteso "C.A.B. Finissime Porcellane Firenze") si riferisce a una manifattura di porcellane e ceramiche artistiche attive nel distretto fiorentino. La maggior parte dei pezzi attribuiti a C.A.B. Firenze risalgono al periodo del dopoguerra, con un picco di produzione tra gli anni '50 e '60. Questo la colloca nel vivace panorama produttivo fiorentino del Mid-Century Modern e del gusto classico-romantico. La manifattura si è specializzata nella produzione di statuette figurative, spesso rappresentanti animali (soprattutto cigni, aironi, colombe, uccelli), figure umane o scene romantiche. Oggetti di arredamento, come vasi con coperchio, porta-gioie e altri oggetti ornamentali. Utilizzavano un impasto di porcellana di alta qualità. Una caratteristica distintiva è l'uso abbondante di dettagli in oro zecchino dipinti a mano (solitamente 24 carati) per rifinire bordi, piume e altri particolari. Lo stile generale è decorativo, talvolta con influenze orientali (come nei vasi con motivi floreali) ma con una sensibilità e un tratto pittorico tipicamente italiani. Il distretto ceramico fiorentino ha una tradizione storica che risale alla Porcellana Medicea (XVI secolo) e, in epoca moderna, è dominato dalla storica Manifattura Ginori a Doccia (oggi Richard Ginori). La C.A.B. si inserisce in un contesto artigianale fiorentino del XX secolo, dove diverse manifatture minori producono oggetti artistici di alta qualità per l'esportazione e per il mercato del lusso, spesso ispirandosi a forme classiche ma con un tocco moderno.
