About the Item
Stunning extremely large , hand hammered copper vase. Signed
Tsuiki Copperware is a traditional Japanese craft .
Tsuiki Is a metal working technique that is derived from the words ' Hammer ' and 'raise'
A variety of tools are used to create hammered copperware, as well as dozens of types of toriguchi (iron rods) .
Rather than stretching the copper by hitting it, it contracts while hitting it.
Once struck, copper becomes hard, so during production, the copperware is placed in a furnace to soften it.
Finally, coloring is applied and the craftsman's many skills are woven into the finished product.
Dimensions: W.32cm , H.43.5cm (Dim 12.6inch x H.17.1inch),
Weight : 2850g (6.3lb).
Good condition with some minor abrasions due to the age .
