About the Item

Product description This small cylindrical ceramic vase was designed by Wilhelm Kage and produced by Gustavsberg as part of the celebrated Argenta series designed in the 1930s. The stamp on the base of this particular vase indicates production after 1959. The vase is finished in deep green glaze and decorated with silver relief ornament, characteristic of the Argenta line, where hand-applied silver decoration contrasts elegantly with the ceramic ground. The restrained vertical form reflects Kage's refined appraoch to Scandinavian modern classicism. The base is stamped with the Gustavsberg logo and marked "Argenta 1029 II". A fine an collectible example of Wilhelm Kage's Argenta design language, well suited for collectors of Swedish modern ceramics. Condition Good vintage condition. The glaze and silver decoration show gentle age-appropriate wear consistent with 1930s production. Origin Gustavsberg, Sweden Specifications Weight: 270 grams Height: 15 cm Diameter (mouth): 4.5 cm
