About the Item

A beautiful and substantial Italian Murano emerald green art glass bowl with a controlled bubble design in the style of designer Angelo Seguso, circa mid-20th century, Italy. Bowl or ashtray has a beautiful soft edge in an organic modern form with three indents around top that can support tobacco items. A beautiful piece that can be used as a decorative object, vide-poche/catchall for jewelry, candy dish, or an ashtray; (piece appears to have never been used as an ashtray.) Thick Murano Glass - Decorative Glass Bowl - Bullicante Murano Glass Beautiful decorative bowl in thick Murano glass, in a vibrant hue of aquamarine green, with included bubbles. This technique, consisting in blowing tiny air bubbles in the glass before it thickens, is called "Bullicante" and was mastered by artisans the like of Archimede Seguso. The piece is not signed, but dated - behind the bottom it reads "Murano 14-9-1983" as shown in pictures.
