Rare Pair of Large Bronze-Mounted Baccarat (Attributed) Cut Crystal Ash/Cigar Trays, Circa 1950s A finely crafted and impressively weighted pair of mid-century bronze-mounted cut crystal trays, attributed to Baccarat, France, circa 1950s. Though unmarked, the quality of the deep geometric cutting and the substantial weight are consistent with Baccarat’s celebrated work in luxury barware and desk accessories of the period. Each rectangular tray is executed in what appears to be the Harvard or Russian diamond-point pattern, featuring a densely faceted surface that catches and refracts light with remarkable brilliance. The pattern’s precision and depth speak to expert crystal cutting, creating a tactile, almost jewel-like texture. The crystal bodies are framed in solid bronze mounts with a warm, mellow patina. The borders are adorned with a continuous band of finely cast heart-and-bead ornament, capped at each corner with large, domed bronze discs—both decorative and functional—securing the frame to the crystal. This bronze work is crisp and substantial, enhancing both the elegance and durability of the trays. Originally intended as ash or cigar trays, their size and sophistication also make them ideal for use as valet trays, desk accessories, or decorative tabletop accents.
