About the Item

A very rare and beautiful 1960s cocktail set with modernist jug and six aperitivo cups designed by Lino Sabattini for Christofle. Each piece is stamped Christofle Gallia ITALY on the base. Gallia was a specific silver alloy used by Christofle which the silver house was extremely proud of. The wooden band around each piece is in teak. A handsome and elegant set well preserved in good condition. Dimensions: Six Aperitivo Cups H11cm x W4cm and Jug H23cm x W9cm

A magnificent piece of mid-century modern barware, an iconic centrepiece for the finest of cocktail parties. Made from silverplate, it was black with tarnish when it arrived with us, but once polished, restoring it to it's former glory, it was clear to see this has been stored away for the last 50 years remaining in superb undamaged condition. Ice would be stored in the base and chilled shots of Vodka or similar would sit in the cut-outs to the lid. Made in Italy by Argenteria Sabattini signed on the underside. Excellent condition spanning 9 3/4" across the top x 4 1/4" tall to top of glasses; each glass spanning 2 1/4" in diameter across the rim x 4" tall.
