A Superb Sheffield Silverplated Three Bottle English Spirits or Wine Tantalus, complete with its original full led hand cut crystal decanters, of exceptional quality, late Nineteenth Century.
Each decanter is hand cut depicting strawberry cut decoration above a chevron cut band, underneath with star cut design.
Condition: Good condition, with no losses. The frame has no wear to silvering, original firm fitting stoppers are perfect. Nice clear marks for renowned Silversmiths John Round in Sheffield.
Height: (entire including ring holder handle) 12” (30.5cm). Width: (base frame) 8” (20.25cm). Depth: 8” (20.25cm).

John Round Silversmiths: Established in 1847 by John Round at Sheffield and was located at Tudor Street. John Round's son, Edwin, became a partner shortly after. By 1876 a second factory was opened at the Arundel Plate Works. The business amalgamated with Ridge, Allcard
Co. in 1886. The firm also had a presence in London (8, Holborn Circus and 112, Hatton Garden and 15, Charterhouse Street and Gray's Inn Chambers, 20, High Holborn) and Montreal (8, Union Buildings, Francois Xavier Street, later, Coristine Building, St. Paul Street), and was acquired in the 1930's by Joseph Rodgers
Sons and transferred to their Pond Hill Works.

Antique Irish Georgian Hand Cut Crystal Sterling Silver Tea Caddy George III

An exceptionally rare Irish George III hand cut full lead crystal single tea caddy of rectangular outline with canted corners and outstanding quality, first quarter of the nineteenth century.
The finely chased silver mounted rim and hinged cover, hand cut with three bands of lozenges on a plain ground, decorative star cut base underneath.
Condition: Exceptional condition for such an early piece, with no losses or clouding inside, silver mounts are unmarked but test positive for silver. Wonderful age wear underneath on base. Lock is present but key does not turn. Back and front views are similar.
Measures: Height: 5.25” (13.5cm). Width: 3.75” (9.5cm). Depth: 3” (7.5cm).

Highly impressive Pair of Moser style Bohemian Amber heavy gauge hand cut crystal and etched glass Wine or Water Drinking Goblets Glasses of museum quality, third quarter of the Nineteenth Century, possibly earlier.
Condition: Superb condition with nice rich amber colours, both with polished pontil underneath. A very small loss to base edge of one, see image. These pieces are typically unmarked.

Bohemia is well known for crystal, in large part because of certain minerals found only in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic. The casing is two crystals melted together, then cut. They set the stage for crystal making and cutting, and I think you may have that backwards, they taught the rest of Europe how to make and cut glass.
