About the Item

A fine set of 8 antique American glass and silver coasters. By Samuel Kirk Son. In sterling silver. Sized for a drinking glass or cup. Each with a cut glass base with a starburst to its center with a sterling silver rim with repousse floral decoration. Marked to the footrim of each coaster with marks that date to ca. 1896 - 1924. Simply wonderful antique S. Kirk Son coasters! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: Each of the silver mounts are slightly out of round. Several of the glass inserts are ever so slightly loose in the bezel and can wiggle or move just slightly in the mount. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some light dings and indentations here and there, some fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with age. Maker: Samuel Kirk Son. Marks: Marked to the silver footrim of each coaster for S. Kirk Son / 925. Fineness: Marked 925 for sterling silver fineness. Measurements: Height: ca. 3/4 in.
