About the Item
An Art Deco cocktail recipe shaker with mixing spoon, “The Barman,” by Ghiso France, dating to circa 1930.
Produced in France for the export market—primarily Argentina—during the early 1930s, this shaker features 24 cocktail recipes, all inscribed in Spanish. The underside is stamped “The Barman, Creación Ghiso” along with the corresponding patent numbers.
The design is both clever and practical: simply remove the top, add the ingredients, mix with the original spoon, and pour using the integrated spout in the fitted lid. All components separate easily for cleaning, and the condition of the graphic text remains very good.
This particular model is in very good condition for its age, the original silverplate with minor silvering loss on protruding edges, and minor surface scratches.
