About the Item

Superb Daum-style bottle holder by the Cristallerie Royale de Champagne, model "Cep de Vigne" numbered 37/200. A magnificent sculptural execution in colored pâte de verre with green and brown tones. Condition: Like new, in its original box. Secure shipping. Dimensions (H x W x D) in cm: 36 x 39 x 15 The "Cristallerie Royale de Champagne" is one of the oldest French manufacturers of mouth-blown crystal. The manufactory was founded in 1678 by Jean-Baptiste Mazzolay, an Italian master glassmaker from Murano, under a royal privilege granted by King Louis XIV. The Cristallerie Royale de Champagne became the official supplier to the French Royal Court until 1728. This world-renowned glassworks has since never extinguished its furnaces since the 17th century. Today's Royale de Champagne is the heir to one of the richest and most refined craftsmanship traditions, where the human hand reigns supreme. Mouth-blowing, hand-cutting, sand engraving, satin finishing, gilding, platinum application, and enameling are all tributes to the fire arts that have built Bayel’s reputation and earned it the prestigious Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label.
