Edwardian Period, sterling silver-mounted hobnail cut claret jug having a hinged lid, Birmingham, England, year-hallmarked for 1908, John Sherwood and Sons - makers. Lovely, graceful handle. Measures 9 1/4 inches high x 3 3/4 inches diameter across base x 5 inches from outer edge of spout to outer edge of handle. There are some very tiny flea bites on the underside edge of pitcher (see photos) that are commensurate with age and use. Dark areas in photos are reflections. In good antique condition.
