Zeppelin
A zeppelin is a large rigid airship created in the early 20th century by German inventor Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin. It features a metal framework filled with hydrogen or helium gas cells that provide lift. Zeppelins were used for both military and civilian purposes, serving as reconnaissance aircraft during World War I and later as luxurious passenger transports that captured the imagination of early aviation. Their sleek elongated form became a marvel of innovation, although tragic accidents such as the Hindenburg explosion in 1937 brought the age of great airships to an end.
