Henckels AG) and dates to the Art Deco period circa 1930. Zwilling J.A. Henckels AG Master Cutlers of Solingen, Germany – Since 1731 Founded in 1731 by Peter Henckels, Zwilling J.A. Henckels AG is one of the world’s oldest and most respected knife manufacturers. Based in Solingen, Germany, the brand is celebrated for its precision-forged chef’s knives, professional cutlery, and premium kitchen tools crafted for both domestic and culinary professionals. Under the leadership of Johann Abraham Henckels (1771–1850), the company took its enduring name and reputation for excellence. Today, Zwilling remains a leader in German knife-making, fully owned by Werhahn KG since 1970. The Zwilling Group includes prestigious brands such as Henckels, Miyabi, BSF, Demeyere, Staub, Fontignac, Ballarini, Flammkraft, and Santos Grills. Zeppelin A zeppelin is a large rigid airship created in the early 20th century by German inventor Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin. It features a metal framework filled with hydrogen or helium gas cells that provide lift. Zeppelins were used for both military and civilian purposes, serving as reconnaissance aircraft during World War I and later as luxurious passenger transports that captured the imagination of early aviation. Their sleek elongated form became a marvel of innovation, although tragic accidents such as the Hindenburg explosion in 1937 brought the age of great airships to an end.
