Jean Després (1889–1980) was a French jewellery designer and silversmith known for his innovative and avant-garde designs during the Art Deco period. He gained prominence in the 1920s and 1930s for his bold and geometric jewellery creations, often incorporating unconventional materials like aluminium, steel, and bronze.
Després' designs were characterised by their modernist aesthetic, which embraced simplicity, clean lines, and geometric shapes, and he was also known for his collaborations with prominent artists and designers of his time. Després worked closely with Picasso, translating the artist's sketches and designs into wearable jewellery pieces.
