About the Item

From the Swedish Glass maker Denby-Milnor, a set of six Mid-Century Modern Coupes, in the Purple Mirage pattern, circa 1970s. Designed for Champagne or desserts, this pattern was hand-blown in the distinctive Scandinavian Modern style by Denby-Milnor in Aseda, Sweden from 1973-1977. Designed by Denby’s head designer, Åseda Glasbruks, the pattern was made available in both deep purple and a bright yellow for a limited time. A clear footed stem meets a coupe shaped upper. Heavy and fine quality, in a deep purple color. The coupe shows where the clear glass is fused to the purple upper, creating an illusion of weight, giving the pattern its name … Mirage. Measures: 4.25 in. H x 3.5 in. at the widest. Excellent vintage condition.
