About the Item
We are pleased to offer for sale an unusual and playful object that will not go unnoticed in your home. It is a large-scale box, of which we have three identical examples available. Made in Italy from stainless steel, it is shaped like a stylized apple.
This whimsical object, dating to around the 1970s, can serve a variety of purposes: as a tobacco box on a coffee table, to conceal unattractive packaging of delicious cookies, as a Mid-20th-Century modern tea caddy, or even as an ice bucket, despite the absence of an internal plastic liner.
The minimalist design of this piece recalls works designed by Ettore Sottsass for Rinnovel or by Lino Sabattini for Christofle. A pop yet refined object, it looks especially striking when all three pieces are displayed together on a shelf or countertop.
All three items are in good vintage condition.
They show no major dents, only minimal signs of use and age, visible in the photos on the stainless steel surface.
