About the Item

A fine set of iced tea or cocktail straws. In 950 fineness sterling silver. Each with a shaped bowl, a stylized bamboo shaft, and a figural charm attached by a jump ring. The charms include a pagoda, a buddha, a teapot, a Shinto Torii gate, a thatched roof house, and a fan. Likely Japanese manufacture. Together with a felt-lined, hinged presentation box. Simply wonderful drinking straws! Date: Mid-20th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There are some very light bends to the straws. The lining and the box has losses, some wear, and other signs of wear consistent with age. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Sterling / 950 to the reverse of the bowls. Measurements: Box Length: ca. 10 in. Width: ca. 5 in. Height: ca. 1 1/8 in. Straws Length: ca. 9 1/8 in. Inner Diameter: ca. 1/8 in. Bowl length: ca. 1 1/2 in. Bowl width: ca. 1 in.
