About the Item

Proud to offer such a beautiful piece. In this tumbler the traditional technique of straight canes receives an additional work. The glass before blowing is heated again to get to the right softness. Ritorto is when the straight design is twisted to make a spiral, in Muranese is also called mena'. Menare is to be translated as to lead. In this case the spiral is interrupted two times so that the two foldings brings back the canes straight. The effect is a 1960s design, when see through the point of cross creates a patchwork of colors. Bellissimo. It's a piera senza vetro, called roll up techniques where the glass is rolled up the pipe without a blob of glass. Each glass cane and element has to be perfectly fused to the next, this is called rimarginatura and then passed on the counter punty (pontello) and hand opened. Canes are not flattened and they keep a lens effect that makes a great play with light. Every piece is a masterpiece and a table set with these tumblers will become attractive and make it a point of conversation. Price is per unit so any quantity can be purchased. Transport becomes complimentary on a set of 12. Tumblers are signed.
