Midcentury vintage bright orange pitcher designed in the 1960s by Joseph Magnin.
Vivid Italian pottery glazed orange retro barware pitcher with handle in a modern stylized form.
The ceramic pitcher was handmade in Italy for the legendary Joseph Magnin.
Established in San Francisco in the early part of the 20th century, he was the son of Issac and Mary Magnin of the I.Magnin department store.

Vintage Art-Deco Style Gladding-McBean El Patio Flame Orange-Red Carafe with Lid, circa 1930s. This carafe/pitcher is part of the Franciscan El Patio dinnerware line introduced by Gladding-McBean in 1934, known for its simple design and iconic "pretzel" shaped cup handle. This piece is in good vintage condition with one chip (on the inside of the lid, not noticable while lid is on the carafe - see photo) or scratches and measures approximately 6"H x 5"W x 4.25"D. #9039
The carafe is marked on the bottom with the oval GMCB mark that was in use from 1934 to 1938. The mark dates the piece to the earliest years of the production of El Patio, one of the five most important California solid colored dinnerware lines of the 1930s, alongside Pacific Hostess Ware, Bauer Ring Ware, Metlox 200 Series, and Vernon Kilns...
