About the Item

William Summers, English sterling silver tankard from 1899, in an elegant, geometric design. It measures 6 1/8'' in height by 5 3/4'' in depth by 3 7/8'' in diameter at the base, weighs 17.8 troy ounces, and bears hallmarks as shown. William Summers was a London silversmith active since 1826. He collaborated with Edward Rawlings for several decades. Summers acquired a strong reputation as a maker of good quality snuff boxes, wine labels and other small items. Some of his pieces are in the permanent collection of the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum. Please feel free to ask us any questions, and please see our other listings.
