About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Edwardian English sterling silver dishes; an addition to our silver tableware collection. These exceptional antique silver dishes, in sterling standard, have an oval rounded form. The surfaces of these antique silver fruit dishes are embellished with impressive pierced decorated circular motifs, incorporating six-pointed star and trefoil designs. The flared shaped rim of each sterling silver dish is ornamented with fine embossed scrolling leaf foliate designs, emanating through the aforementioned pierced decoration. Either end of each sterling silver dish incorporates a protruding handpiece, ornamented with an embossed grotesque mask design. These exceptional Edwardian silver dishes are large examples for their type. Condition These antique Edwardian sterling silver dishes are an excellent gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition. The dishes have been professionally polished and are in presentation condition. The pierced and embossed decoration is sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each dish are all very clear. Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of these examples of antique silverware. An exceptional, fine and impressive, large pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver entrée dishes made by Walker and Hall; an addition to dining silverware collection. These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver entree dishes have a rounded oval form. The surface of each cover is encircled with a fine band of bright cut engraved stylised scrolling leaf and undulating line decoration incorporating lozenge and floral shaped motifs. The decoration to each dish incorporates a vacant cartouche to either side. The surface of each base and the interior of the covers are plain and unembellished. The rim of each entree dish base, in addition to the upper surface of the covers are encompassed with an applied stylised Roman leaf border. An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver potato dish rings; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver dish rings have a circular waisted form. The sterling silver body of each dish is embellished with impressive embossed and pierced scrolling foliate and floral decoration. The posterior surface of each piece is ornamented with an embossed scene depicting a man in period attire holding a staff; it can be determined this figure is a shepherd.
