Pair of Medallion coin silver centerpiece compotes. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1860. Each: Oval bowl with turned end handles on faceted supports; raised foot on 4 curvilinear bracket supports. Stippled rondels with cast Classical and Renaissance profiles, including a bearded sage, virtuous matron, helmeted centurion, and feather-capped youth. Fretwork borders. Maker’s mark and no. 295. Total weight: 52 troy ounces.
