About the Item

Pair of Victorian Classical sterling silver covered vegetable dishes. Made by Tiffany Co. in New York, ca 1875. Each: Curved and oval bowl with cast shell and scroll rim. Cover domed with reeded leaf-wrapped ring handle, cast floral borders, and engraved leaf-and-dart rim. Repousse garlands and scalloping. An elegant twosome—make that foursome because the handles are twist-lock and the covers convert to serving bowls. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 2016, order no. 5844, and director’s letter M (1873-91). Total weight: 83.7 troy ounces.
