About the Item

An impressive and large scale French 19th century Renaissance st. verdigris Bronze, Ormolu and Black Belgian marble centerpiece/planter. This stunning planter is raised on four claw feet supporting a verdigris patinated Bronze base decorated with lion masks and Ormolu palmette details below an Ormolu socle. Above is the Black Belgian marble body of the planter, flanked with patinated Bronze scrolled handles with Ormolu detailing, as well as rosettes escutcheons holding Ormolu rings. The body of the planter is centered by a verdigris patinated Bronze male mask on a foliate scrolled background with Ormolu detailing. The planter is accented with delicate Ormolu filets which wrap around the recessed mid section before the mottle top rim and smooth interior.
