About the Item

A stately and most impressive French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu centerpiece. This wonderful centerpiece is raised on a tripod shaped Ormolu base with canted corners and a central waterfall fut. The fut is surrounded by three charming cherubs on the backs of dolphins. One cherub is riding the dolphin holding a trident while another is attempting to hold back the dolphin. The third is showcased holding his balance while riding his dolphin. Above is the impressive and richly chased Ormolu circular dish with a shell like design. High quality and intricate attention to detail throughout.
