About the Item

A striking and extremely decorative French 19th century Renaissance st. Belle Époque period ormolu, silvered bronze, and black Belgian marble centerpiece. The centerpiece is raised by handsome paw feet below elegant palmettes and a mottled band with beautiful scrolled foliate designs extending around the base. At each side are impressive scrolled handles leading to richly chased faces of handsome bearded men and a wrap around silvered bronze band with finely detailed ormolu floral rosettes. At the center is the original richly sculpted black Belgian marble bowl with a beautiful mottled design conforming to the shape of the base. All original gilt and silver throughout.
