About the Item
French Art Nouveau Silver-Plated Centerpiece “Epergne”
Circa 1900
An elegant French Art Nouveau silver-plated centerpiece, or epergne, dating to around 1900. Designed to hold flowers, fruits, or other decorative elements, this piece exemplifies the fluid lines, organic motifs, and refined craftsmanship characteristic of the Art Nouveau period.
The graceful curves and sculptural detailing highlight the movement’s inspiration from nature and flowing forms, making it both a functional centerpiece and a striking decorative object. Its silver-plated surface enhances the reflective quality and visual presence, typical of French table silver from the turn of the century.
