About the Item

An exceptional and very unique French and Asian collaboration 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period Japanese lacquered, Kutani porcelain and ormolu potpourri centerpiece. The centerpiece is raised by a beautiful circular base with fine block rosette feet and a pierced wrap around band. The porcelain body displays a wonderfully executed and most unique red Japanese lacquered finish with lovely hand painted fluted and lattice designs with beautiful charming scenes. Elegant lightly curved ormolu handles lead up each side with fine beaded designs and swaging berried laurel bands centering the ormolu rim with a striking pierced circular geometric and beaded design. The removable lid displays a charming and richly chased pierced foliate and acorn finial. All original gilt throughout.
