About the Item
Large leaf-shaped ceramic platter manufactured in Vallauris, France, circa 1950–1960. The piece is made in majolica with a sculpted leaf profile, including central veining and a stem-shaped handle at one end.
The interior is glazed in deep brown, while the rim carries a contrasting band of darker glaze with streaks of blue, white and touches of yellow, creating a varied surface typical of Vallauris production of the period. The underside is signed, confirming origin.
With its shallow, open form, the platter works well as a serving piece, fruit bowl or table centerpiece. It can also be displayed on a console or shelf as a decorative object. Very good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use and a very small, professionally executed repair, please refer to the detailled photo.
