About the Item

A fine brass footed cake stand. With a wide wafer top supported on a narrow, tapered foot. By Ron Pearson. Ronald Pearson is an extremely important figure in the 20th Century American Craft movement. Together with John Prip and others, Ronald Pearson opened the highly acclaimed Shop One in Rochester, New York. He was, along with Stanley Lechtzin, Robert Ebendorf, and Olaf Skoogfors, a founding member of the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG). Works by Pearson are held in important museums including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, MoMA in New York, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and others, as well as in numerous important private collections. Simply a wonderful tray from one of the America's 20th century's Craft giants! Date: Mid-20th Century Overall Condition It is in overall, good, as-pictured, used estate condition. There are some fingerprints to the surface. We’ve left it to the collector to decide to buff these out or leave the current patina. Otherwise, there are fine and light surface scratches throughout and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
