About the Item

An elegant and most charming pair of Chinese 18th century Louis XV st. Famille Rose Porcelain and French 19th century Ormolu mounted centerpieces. Each wonderful centerpiece is raised by a pierced oval Ormolu base with a bottom scalloped design and acanthus leaf scrolls. Above is the gadroon shaped socle all below a reeded designed Ormolu support with spiral ribbon decorations. Each centerpiece is exquisitely decorated by delicate hand painted designs of pastel colored lotus and peony blossoms, as well as other floral and scrolling vine motifs. Each oval rim of the centerpieces are richly decorated with finely chased Ormolu mounts of laurel scrolls. All original gilding throughout.
