About the Item
Elegant painted and gilded porcelain bowl with lid, attributable to the imperial manufacture in Vienna, datable to the first quarter of the 19th century.
The surface has a refined acid green background, embellished with pure gold profiles and friezes. The side handles are ornamented with raised female masks, also emphasized by gilding.
A delicate monochrome allegorical scene appears on the front, titled L'Innocence, with a winged putto and a young boy kissing tenderly, accompanied by two doves, symbols of purity and love. This type of decoration is part of the Viennese production of neoclassical and sentimental taste, inspired by engravings and allegorical motifs popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
On the bottom are visible numbering (40, 120, 822) traceable to turner, painter and year of production.
Conservation status: excellent, with minimal signs of wear on the gilding, no chipping or restoration.Dimensions: maximum width (including handles) cm 15 - body height cm 15 - total height with lid cm 19.
