About the Item

Spectacular centerpiece, made of ceramic by the famous Julius Dressler, with chestnut motives, around 1900, in Bohemia / Austria. This fantastic, very large object is an outstanding example of the masterful execution of large ceramics. The base is round, narrowing towards the top, and features two small handles and a large bowl. Both the base and the bowl are decorated all around with Art Nouveau geometric shapes, as well as chestnut leaves and conkers. These decorations are gold; the base color of the glazed ceramic is ivory. Dimensions approx. height 14,37 in - 36,5 cm, diameter 12,20 in - 31 cm. On the underside is the well-known umbrella mark of Julius Dressler, which suggests it was made before 1910. An exceptionally decorative piece that will be an eye-catcher on any table setting.
