Exceptional and important pair of clear lead crystal table centerpieces; the shape, very slender and aesthetically daring, full of curves and rounded ends fascinates us for its unparalleled and elegant plasticity and lightness; the master craftsmen have managed to make the massive blocks of crystal, delicate almost vaporous, have transformed the crystal pulling it by torsion, working it with pliers and shaping it by hand; under the base has been acid etched the manufacturer's mark and from it, we can say that this refined and sculptural pair of table centerpieces in a clear crystal has been produced between 1965 and 1968 by the famous glassworks Vannes-le-Chatel in the homonymous town in Lorraine, the Grand Est area of France, the home of crystal and glass. History traces the founding of Cristalleria Vannes to around 1765, under aristocratic patronage, and it immediately became one of the most important glass manufacturers in France producing table glassware, then diversifying into ornamental works in 1930. In 1963 they began producing lead crystal decorative glass with the height of their production during 1960-1970. The glassworks of Vannes became the Compagnie Française du Cristal (CFC) then integrated Daum under the name of CFC Daum, but the prestigious pieces produced at that time, although of exceptional quality, were not branded Daum but always Vannes as our centerpiece; it was in 1970 or so that ART Vannes ceased production and Cristal de Sevres was born and only since 1980 have they produced under the brand of Daum. Regardless of the different signatures, the glass and crystal masterpieces of Vannes-le-Châtel, are part of the French decorative history. We assure you that the centers are in excellent condition, those in the photos may seem impurities, are annoying optical effects due to light reflected from the crystal, impossible to eliminate photographically. Measures width cm.58, depth cm.18, height cm.27. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
