About the Item

Germany Frechen Circa 1620 – 1650 Bellarmine or Bartmann jug with a flower medallion. A salt-glazed and iron-engobed bellarmine with a narrow neck, spherical body, and flat base. A stylized face with a closed mouth and a long round beard is applied to the neck. A medallion has been applied to the boy of the jug containing a stylized flower. The jug is in very good condition, with a few firing? cracks on the base, but sounds solid. Further with the normal superficial wear and small chips according to age.
