About the Item
A flow blue ceramic tea caddy from Ringtons Tea Merchants. This square vessel would make a great cookie jar or coffee or tea holder. It is made from a crisp white ceramic and features a flow blue chinoiserie design throughout. The design is composed of Chinoiserie pagodas, temples, and floral and fauna. The lid is also square and fits snugly on top. It is also covered in the same chinoiserie pattern but with a twist. It has a fun nautical design at each corner. We think this represents the way that tea was exported during this time. Each corner has a small blue sailing ship with a stylized design that appears to be blue rolling waves. The bottom is marked with, "Ringtons Limited, Tea Merchants, Newcastle upon Tyle."
