Antique terra cotta 'Tian' bowl, France, late 19th century. A large size 'Tian' with handles and spout. Pale yellow glaze on the interior and rim, unglazed exterior. Originating in the south of France, the 'Tian' was used as a mixing bowl, especially in the preparation of confit.
