About the Item
A very stylish British handcrafted Studio Pottery multi-sided lidded vessel decorated in soda glazes and dating from the 20th century. The stoneware vessel sits on a flattened round foot with a cylindrical flat sided body with a flat top edge with a central recess with fitted cover with raised twig shaped finial. The vessel and cover are decorated in orange and thick light grey soda glazes which have been painted and run down the body of the vessel with a textured finish rough to the touch. The vessel has an impressed SB mark to the lower edge and to the cover.
This stylish piece came as part of a large private collection of Studio Pottery, carefully selected and from renowned makers.
Provenance: acquired in the British Art Market.
